When doctors told this woman why her lip was swelling up and weren’t sure if she was going to make it, she prayed for one thing!

Sheri, a courageous woman, never anticipated that her life would be at stake because of a single bite. However, that’s precisely what transpired, showcasing her remarkable resilience.

Within a day of the incident, Sheri’s pain intensified, prompting her to seek medical attention. She has been prescribed antibiotics but didn’t experience the swift relief she had hoped for. Instead, the area around her lip continued to swell, indicating a more serious problem than initially assumed.

As Sheri’s condition worsened, both she and those around her realized the gravity of the situation. Doctors expressed uncertainty about her survival, leaving her with a daunting realization. In an interview, she shared, “I thought I wasn’t going to live through the night when they first told me. It looked like a big balloon on my face.”

Sheri had been bitten on the lip by a venomous spider, plunging her into a life-or-death struggle. Hallucinations and hospitalization became her reality as she battled against the venom coursing through her body, causing her lip to swell multiple times its original size.

The spider bite occurred during a kayaking trip while she was participating in a ten-hour course. Initially unaware of the spider bite, she tried to dismiss the pain. However, it soon became evident that the spider responsible for the bite was a highly venomous and dangerous brown recluse spider.

“I’m almost 50, and I’ve been floating in this river since I could swim, six years old,” Sheri recounted. “I was just praying I wasn’t going to die because I hear horror stories, and you look on the internet and see all this stuff.” She added, “They told me they weren’t sure if I was going to make it, and I thought I wasn’t going to live through the night when they first told me.

It looked like a big balloon on my face.” Eventually, she was admitted to the hospital, where doctors swiftly diagnosed her with a brown recluse spider bite. They administered antibiotics to combat any lingering bacteria from the venom and performed surgery to remove the necrotic tissue from her lip.

Fortunately, Sheri’s indomitable spirit prevailed, and she survived the ordeal. Today, she considers herself incredibly fortunate to be alive. She encourages others facing similar situations to seek immediate medical help, emphasizing the importance of preventing such incidents. Sheri shared her advice, saying, “If you suspect anything is wrong with your body, seek medical attention. Because if I hadn’t sought help, anything could have happened.”
