Police have arrested a Florida woman, Brittany Holbrook, in connection with the murder of her boyfriend, Tyler Nulisch, in Key West. The arrest comes after an alleged incident involving threats made by Holbrook towards Nulisch.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Fox News, Holbrook had gone out with Jessica Stiegel, a friend of the victim, a few days prior to the deadly incident. Stiegel reported that Holbrook had consumed several drinks and made disturbing remarks, stating that she intended to kill Nulisch and harm him in a gruesome manner, comparing it to gutting a deer.
Stiegel mentioned that Holbrook and Nulisch had seemed like a perfect couple and that Holbrook’s personality would drastically change when she consumed alcohol, leading to aggressive behavior, including screaming, throwing objects, and physically assaulting Nulisch.
On June 17, around 3 a.m., the couple’s roommate awoke to Holbrook’s cries for help. The roommate discovered Nulisch lying in a pool of blood. When asked what had transpired, Nulisch allegedly responded by accusing Holbrook of shooting him in the back.
Tragically, Nulisch succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
Police reported that Holbrook initially provided conflicting accounts of the events, claiming memory gaps and later alleging that Nulisch had attacked her. However, she denied shooting her boyfriend.
Holbrook has been arrested on a charge of premeditated murder and is currently held at the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office on a bond set at $750,000. The investigation into the case continues as authorities seek to gather further evidence and uncover the truth surrounding this tragic incident.
