After attempting to conceive for 18 years, a woman has successfully given birth to a baby through IVF

After 18 years of infertility treatment, a mother has given birth to a healthy child through IVF. At the age of 17, Kim, now 40, gave birth to her first child naturally. But after she married James, 46, she realized how badly she wanted to have another child.

However, Kim and James were unable to conceive despite their best efforts. The primary issue was Kim’s polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), which she was diagnosed with at the age of just 18.

The issue makes it much more challenging to become pregnant, among other things by causing irregular periods and ovulation. The couple so decided to attempt IVF. We underwent a laparoscopy, which was unsuccessful, so IVF was my last option, according to Kim.

We had no other choice, but IVF seemed like it wouldn’t work, so I didn’t want to go through with it. They tried a variety of therapies before ultimately seeking assistance from TFP Simply Fertility in Chelmsford.

Kim considers herself “extremely lucky” and still has nine eggs frozen after receiving 19 eggs in their first IVF treatment. Kim and James ultimately became pregnant with their son Harrison at that point, 18 years after they first began trying.

The mother said, “It sounds terrible, but there was a lot of worry. “I was terrified about miscarrying the baby. There was a lot of worry, and I worried constantly. It must be the most demanding thing I’ve ever done, told Bristol Post.

“The clinic offered counseling, but I don’t usually take advantage of that.” With the exception of the anxiety, the pregnancy was simple. However, Kim gave birth to a 7lb 7oz. The baby boy was named Harrison in January 2019 at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.

Kim remarked, “I really can’t put into words the sensation when Harrison was born, it was beautiful. “Having him in my arms was a magical moment. I never thought I would fall pregnant again.”

And as if there weren’t enough wonderful news for the pair, in 2021 they heard Kim was expecting her second IVF child. William, their second child, has just turned two.

The mother of three recommended others to go with IVF if they had the opportunity to do so. “I considered it to be my last resort; nevertheless, if it is an option, take advantage of it rather than believing it to be your only choice.

The clinic was wonderful and really helpful. “When I brought the boys back inside, they were eager to hold and observe them.”
