Woman Hospitalized After Alleged Car Attack by Man Met on Dating App

A woman was hospitalized following an incident where a man she had met on a dating app allegedly ran her over with his car during an argument. According to the Des Plaines Police Department’s crime report, an officer on patrol responded to a woman’s scream at 4:28 a.m. on December 5.

The woman found knocking on a store’s front door, informed the officer that she had been struck by a car. Her disheveled and wet clothes indicated signs of an incident.

Des Plaines Fire Department personnel transported the woman to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The subsequent investigation revealed that the victim, who matched with Jose Roldan Vazquez on a dating app, met him in a parking lot, told WGN-TV.

After an initial disagreement, the pair returned to the parking lot where a verbal argument ensued. Attempting to distance herself from Vazquez, the woman exited the vehicle, and he allegedly drove into her, causing her to fall.

Surveillance footage from nearby businesses reportedly captured the moment when Vazquez’s SUV struck the victim and knocked her down. Subsequently, Des Plaines Police officers arrested Vazquez at his Mount Prospect residence, charging him with aggravated battery and failure to report a personal injury motor vehicle accident. Additionally, he received a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
