Police officials said the suspect, later identified as 37-year-old Denise, was arrested and later charged with first-degree murder after she reportedly took a walking frame and used it to beat 66-year-old Melinda to death.
The 66-year-old victim suffered from multiple injuries to her head and face and was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
According to the police officials, the victim and the suspect got into an argument after Denise blamed Melinda for pursuing a relationship with her boyfriend.
The fatal incident occurred on Nov. 2, 2023. Officers responded to a disturbance call and found the elderly woman suffering from severe injuries to her face and head.
The 66-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. According to reports, the 66-year-old victim and Denise reportedly got into a fight because, according to Denise, the elderly woman was allegedly trying to steal her boyfriend.
Police officials said their fight escalated before Denise grabbed a walking frame and beat Melinda in the head and face with it. According to the statement, the beating continued until bystanders were able to stop the 37-year-old woman.
