A man has been arrested in Baton Rouge, Louisiana after a video surfaced on social media showing him giving a small boy a large joint to smoke. The man, identified as John Hall, was taken into custody for contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. In the video, Hall can be heard expressing approval while handing the blunt to the 5-year-old boy, who was seated in the front passenger seat of a car. The incident garnered attention after the video was widely shared on social media.
In a tragic turn of events, the boy had been involved in an accidental shooting just weeks before Hall’s arrest. The boy’s mother, 26-year-old Desiree Felder, faced criminal charges related to the incident. Two children were injured when one of them gained access to a rifle in a residential setting. One of the boys fired the gun, resulting in injuries to both children.
Shockingly, Felder failed to report the incident to the police for several days, claiming she only noticed a minor cut on her son after awakening to a loud noise. She informed the authorities that she had fallen asleep while supervising the children but took care of her son’s wound herself. Felder’s sister, the mother of the other injured boy, discovered multiple cuts on her son and was informed by Felder that he had simply fallen off a bike.
However, medical professionals at a nearby hospital discovered that the cuts were actually fragments of shrapnel embedded in the children’s bodies. During her arrest, Felder made obscene gestures toward reporters and even expressed a hateful comment toward one of them. She displayed a lack of remorse and stuck out her tongue at the cameras as she was being placed into a police car.
At the time of the shooting incident, the children involved were 3 and 6 years old, respectively. The case serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers associated with firearm accessibility and negligent supervision, highlighting the need for responsible care and vigilance when it comes to child safety.
