According to reports, a young woman named Hayden initially believed that her dog, Jackson, had suffered insect bites. However, upon closer inspection, she was shocked to make a disturbing discovery.

“We thought they were bug bites and stuff. But then Saturday night I started noticing holes in him,” Hayden shared. “I was in shock, I didn’t even know what to think.” Determined to get Jackson the necessary help, she took him to the veterinarian, where a distressing truth unfolded. During the examination, veterinarians found dozens of puncture wounds on Jackson’s body, leading to immediate concern.

The veterinarian promptly took action, shaving Jackson’s fur to get a clearer view of the injuries. Shockingly, they removed 20 pellets and seven BBs from the dog’s body. Authorities swiftly apprehended Hayden’s neighbor, Tim, on drug-related charges, suspecting him to be the perpetrator behind the heinous act.

A BB gun and pellets were recovered from Tim’s residence, and investigators are currently awaiting laboratory test results to establish a definitive link between the recovered items and Jackson’s injuries.

Regrettably, Jackson still has 20 pellets lodged inside his body, while another 20 projectiles merely grazed his skin. During the search of Tim’s home, law enforcement officers discovered marijuana, methamphetamines, and drug paraphernalia.

Although animal cruelty charges have not been pressed against him thus far, authorities are actively pursuing avenues to charge him appropriately.

The local police department expressed their shock and dismay at the severity of Jackson’s injuries, describing it as one of the worst cases of animal cruelty they have encountered.

Assistant Chief Craig stated, “I have never seen an animal shot that many times. It’s a very bad case, and it’s sad to see.” He also speculated that Tim may have been under the influence of drugs during the attack.

In light of recent reports highlighting a surge in animal cruelty cases since the beginning of 2022, this story serves as a stark reminder of the urgency to address and combat such acts of violence against animals.
