A video that has gone viral shows a New York professor launching into a profanity-laden tirade against two students who were sharing pro-life literature on campus. Shellyne Rodriguez, an adjunct professor at Hunter College, approached the students and began using offensive language to berate them.
In the video posted by Students for Life of America, Rodriguez can be heard claiming that the students’ informational table was “violent” and triggering for other students. She accused them of spreading propaganda and even made inappropriate remarks about their ability to conceive.
During the interaction, the professor knocked over a display and threw brochures on the floor, further escalating the situation. Despite the students’ attempts to remain calm and engage in a respectful dialogue, Rodriguez continued her aggressive behavior.
The incident caught the attention of the school, with the provost launching an investigation into the professor’s actions. Hunter College maintains that it values decorum, respect, and the free expression of ideas on campus told Fox News Digital.
While some leftist campus groups have attempted to portray Rodriguez as a heroic figure and encourage solidarity with her, the video has sparked widespread criticism of her behavior.
The school’s response to the incident reflects its commitment to fostering a vibrant marketplace of ideas while ensuring a respectful environment for all students.
