‘Say It To My Face’: Chris Christie Challenges Trump After Ex-President Cracks Weight Joke About Him

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, a Republican presidential candidate, has presented a direct challenge to Donald Trump. During a rally in Windham, New Hampshire, Trump once again ridiculed Christie’s appearance, leading the audience to laugh.

Trump remarked, “Christie, he’s eating right now,” drawing laughter from the crowd, as he made a joke about Christie’s weight.

Reacting to the crowd’s response, Trump singled out an individual and cautioned against using derogatory language. He said, “Sir, please do not call him a fat pig.

That’s very disrespectful. Don’t call him. See, I’m trying to be nice. Don’t call him a fat pig. You can’t do that. So now, because it’s not allowed, we’re not going to do it, okay? Let’s maintain civility, right?”

Later that night, Christie took to social media to counter the former president’s remarks. Trump has hinted at the possibility of skipping the first Republican primary debate on August 23, which is hosted by Fox News.

In response, Christie challenged Trump to confront him face-to-face during the debate, stating, “If you had the courage, you would show up to the debate and say it to my face.”

Trump’s potential decision to avoid the debate stems from his perception of Fox News as a “hostile network.” Despite this, Trump leads the Republican field by a significant margin.

A recent survey of New Hampshire Republican voters indicated that Christie and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis are tied for second place with 9% support each, while Trump secured 43% support in the poll.
