San Antonio Police Seek Public Assistance in Tragic Double Homicide Case
The San Antonio Police Department is seeking help from the public to identify persons of interest in the case of an 18-year-old pregnant woman, Savanah Soto, and her apparent partner, 22-year-old Matthew Guerra, who was found dead in a vehicle on December 26. The bodies were discovered in San Antonio, Texas, days after the couple was reported missing on December 23.
Police released footage on Instagram, captured from a nearby location, showing two persons of interest—one driving a dark-colored pickup truck and the other operating the victims’ Silver Kia Optima. The authorities are treating the case as a capital murder investigation.
Soto and Guerra were last seen in Leon Valley, and the footage dates back several days before the bodies were found. Guerra was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head in the Kia Optima, while Soto’s official identification is pending, though the police express confidence in her identity.
Soto, who was full-term pregnant, was scheduled for induced labor last weekend. Police Chief William McManus described the crime as “heinous” and “unspeakable” during a press conference. The family has initiated a GoFundMe campaign, raising over $13,000 for Soto’s funeral and the baby, named Fabian.
