Two individuals, both aged 27, have been collectively sentenced to a total of 90 years in prison for engaging in the se*xual abuse of their child and disseminating explicit images of the abuse on various social media platforms.
Tristan Mullins and Desley McLemore, who had an on-again, off-again relationship spanning approximately three years, shared custody of their child born in June 2020. Despite McLemore having primary custody, Mullins had periodic visits with the infant at both his residence and McLemore’s, reported WISH-TV.
Approximately a year and a half after the child’s birth, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Indiana disclosed that Mullins and McLemore se*xually abused the infant, producing over 98 videos containing se*xually explicit content. A month later, the Indianapolis Metro Police Department received a tip from Google indicating that the duo had been sharing these disturbing videos online, leading to their immediate arrest.
According to the statement, Mullins and McLemore admitted to disseminating the explicit material on various platforms, including Kik, Snapchat, Facebook, and adult websites. Mullins was noted for adding extremely graphic and crude captions and commentary to the videos he shared with others, told Fox 59.
Both individuals pleaded guilty to charges of se*xual exploitation of a child, se*xual exploitation of a child by a parent or guardian, and transportation of child se*xual abuse material.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office outlined the sentencing, indicating that Mullins is to serve 60 years in prison with an additional 15 years of supervised release. McLemore received a 30-year prison sentence with supervised release for the entirety of her life.
U.S. Attorney Zachary Myers expressed profound condemnation, stating, “Babies are precious and vulnerable, and most parents have an instinctual desire to protect them from harm. Tristan Mullins and Desley McLemore instead chose to exploit their baby in the most cruel and unimaginable ways before she was even old enough to walk or speak.” The severity of their crimes underscores the heinous nature of the abuse inflicted upon an innocent child.
