‘He Paid Joe Biden’s Bills’: Is This The Hunter Biden Smoking Gun?

In a recently surfaced text message from 2018, Hunter Biden is claimed to have covered his father’s expenses for over a decade, sparking renewed allegations of corruption within the Biden family, according to House Republicans.

The text conversation, between Hunter and his assistant Katie Dodge, mentions his Wells Fargo account being inaccessible due to “too many profile changes.”

Responding to Dodge’s mention of needing to pay AT&T, Hunter directs her to charge the payment to both his debit card and Wells Fargo credit line. Importantly, he states, “My dad has been using most lines on this account which I’ve through the gracious offerings of Eric [Schwerin] paid for the past 11 years.”

While the context of the text doesn’t explicitly clarify whether Hunter and his father shared an AT&T or Wells Fargo account, it has sparked discussions about the financial ties within the Biden family.

Critics argue that the texts suggest a level of financial connection between Hunter and Joe Biden that raises concerns about their ethical conduct.

Republicans are not relenting on their accusations. Rep. Clay Higgins told Fox News, “There’s more. Much, much more. Joe Biden is undoubtedly a deeply compromised career politician. Oversight Committee Republicans are unveiling the extent of his corruption, and those close to him will be affected by the aftermath of his downfall.”

These recently disclosed texts align with previous reports from Fox News, which highlighted instances of intertwined finances between Hunter and Biden.

Eric Schwerin, Hunter’s long-time business partner, emerged as a key figure in their financial interactions. A 2010 email from Schwerin indicated a transfer of funds from Joe Biden’s tax refund check to Hunter’s account, citing “he owes it to you.”

Another email from 2016 showed Hunter’s responsibility to pay an AT&T bill for “JRB,” presumably referring to Joe Biden.

House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik criticized the Biden family, stating, “This is what corruption looks like.” She alleged that Hunter leveraged his father’s access to solicit financial support.

Committee Republicans have released bank memos displaying funds entering Hunter’s accounts from foreign entities during Joe Biden’s vice presidency.

The underlying question is whether the President was aware of or benefitted from these transactions.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer labeled Attorney General Merrick Garland’s appointment of U.S. Attorney David Weiss as special counsel for the Hunter Biden investigation as an attempt to conceal the alleged involvement of the Biden family in profitable dealings.

This isn’t the first time his son’s texts have stirred controversy for the President.

In June, it was reported that in a 2017 text message, Hunter Biden appeared to exert pressure on someone named Henry Zhao, mentioning his father’s interest in an unnamed matter.

President Biden was questioned about his role in the message and firmly denied direct involvement.

Hunter’s lawyers attributed that text to his struggles with addiction and even claimed the screenshot in question was fabricated.

Hunter Biden is also facing charges related to false statements and unpaid taxes.
