Mum murdered newborn baby stuffing cotton balls down his throat

A heartbreaking case unfolded as a 19-year-old mother, Paris Mayo, was convicted of murdering her newborn son, Stanley Mayo. Tragically, Stanley was discovered lifeless just one day after his birth on Sunday, March 24, 2019.

In a shocking revelation during the trial, it was revealed that the young mother had assaulted Stanley, forcefully placing cotton wool balls down his throat. She then callously disposed of his body in a bin bag, leaving it on her doorstep in Ross on Wye before going to sleep.

The following morning, Stanley’s grandmother made the horrifying discovery when she peered into the bloodstained bag. Immediately realizing the gravity of the situation, she dialed emergency services and told independent.

Throughout the trial, Mayo vehemently denied causing the traumatic skull fractures found on Stanley, which were believed to have been caused by her foot on his head. She claimed that her son was already deceased at the time of his birth. However, after eight hours and 38 minutes of deliberation, the jury rendered a guilty verdict, causing Mayo to break down in tears in the dock.

During the court proceedings, Mayo appeared dressed in a black t-shirt, patterned skirt, and white Converse trainers. Following the verdict, Mr Justice Garnham remanded her into custody. Mayo’s sentencing is scheduled for June 26, when she will face the consequences of this tragic and disturbing crime.
