Daniel Mitchell, aged 48, made an appearance at Manchester Crown Court, facing charges of murder in relation to the death of Alexis Karran, aged 49.
The incident leading to Ms. Karran’s death occurred in Dukinfield, Tameside, in November of the previous year. She passed away at Salford Royal Hospital.
During a preliminary hearing on Thursday afternoon (May 18), Mr. Mitchell appeared via video link at Manchester Crown Court. He was not required to enter a plea at this stage, reported CBC.
The court scheduled a trial for November, and Judge Nicholas Dean KC adjourned the case until the next hearing in July.
In a statement released by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) following her demise, Alexis’s family paid tribute to her. They described her as a compassionate person who exhibited kindness towards everyone she encountered, whether friends or strangers.
They also highlighted her as a remarkable role model for her brother, inspiring him to strive for the same qualities in life.
“She will forever remain in our hearts, and we will always be ready to say hello,” the family expressed. Mr. Mitchell, residing on Winchester Road, Dukinfield, has been detained under the Mental Health Act.
