The cover star is Logan Brown, an author who identifies as a transgender man and is unexpectedly pregnant with his partner Bailey J Mills, a renowned non-binary drag performer in the UK.
The interview explores Brown’s unique journey of pregnancy as a transgender individual.
The captivating images showcase Logan in a hand-painted suit, reminiscent of Demi Moore’s iconic Vanity Fair cover by Annie Leibowitz in 1992.
In the interview and accompanying unfiltered video, Brown opens up to the fashion magazine about his transition journey, meeting and falling in love with TikTok celebrity Mills, and the subsequent birth of their beautiful daughter.
Asserting his identity, Brown confidently states on camera, “I am living proof of an expecting transgender man.”
He further expresses, “No matter what anybody says, I truly exist and I am proud of who I am.”
Brown, 27, reveals that his pregnancy came as a surprise, and it felt as if his world had momentarily paused when the test results confirmed the positive outcome.
He shares that he became pregnant during a temporary pause in taking testosterone due to health reasons.
“It took me time to reach a point of self-assurance in my identity as a pregnant man,” Brown admits. “I used to carry so much guilt [about being pregnant as a man], but something clicked, and I realized that I am going to embrace this, I am an expecting man, and we are going to navigate this journey together.”
Brown discloses that when he and Mills announced their pregnancy, the response on social media was overwhelmingly filled with love rather than hate. He hopes to use his platform to educate and dispel misconceptions about transgender individuals.
He asserts, “What empowers me as a transgender man is that whoever I say I am, I am that person, and no one can take that away from me.”
Currently, Brown is working on a children’s book titled “In My Daddy’s Belly,” based on his experience of having a baby, but from his daughter’s perspective.
“I believe it’s important for my child to read this book, to understand where she comes from and to feel proud about it,” Brown shares.
Deborah Joseph, GLAMOUR’s European Editorial Director, expresses admiration for Brown’s story, stating, “When we first met Logan and heard his incredible journey, we were blown away by his strength and courage. We knew he would be the perfect cover star for our June Pride issue, as a shining example of empowerment, inclusivity, and equality.”
Joseph adds, “Logan and Bailey bringing their beautiful child into the world is a story of love and acceptance, two things that we often find ourselves yearning for more of in this world.”
