Horrifying Footage Caught a Bull-Crushing Rodeo Rider to Death, After Getting Tripped, in One of the Most Shocking Incidents

Bull riding poses several risks, which are well acknowledged. Being trampled by enormous bulls that weigh approximately 2000 pounds can only lead to severe harm. Bull riders often get injuries after being bucked off of a bull. Rodeos are among the riskiest athletic events because of this.

The fact that it’s not only risky but also fatal, makes it much more horrifying. There is a lot larger likelihood of falling off a bull and never rising again than anybody would be comfortable with. Cowboys get excited and ride bulls even when all the odds are stacked against them. It might be described as reckless abandonment or just an addiction to adrenaline.

Nonetheless, it cannot be denied that bull riding is a deadly kind of art. Sadly, the same thing happened to Jason Gustavo Artavia Vasquez in 2018. Consent of the viewer is advised. The horrifying fall was captured on video during the event, which happened in Upala in the Alajuela area of western Costa Rica. The bull rider originally attempted to cling on to the bucking bull, according to the Daily Mail‘s account of the event.

The several efforts to hang on for dear life were all ineffective. Vasquez was crushed by the bull as he fell, and the animal then threw him about like a rag doll. The unsettling video shows the cowboy frantically attempting to cling on to the ferociously bucking bull. But after continuing to buck for a few long-seeming seconds, the bull lost its equilibrium out of desperation to lose Vasquez.

The bull and the rider may be seen falling together. The bull was so huge that the rodeo rider was crushed beneath its weight. Jason Gustavo Artavia Vasquez was not only crushed, but the massive bull’s weighty body also caused him to get submerged. The bull was not knocked out, but the rider was. It began to struggle to get up after falling as if its life depended on it.

Vasquez remained asleep during the bull’s caressings. At this point, a true catastrophe occurred. The bull continued to attempt to buck off the rider, and the then 28-year-old cowboy slipped off the back of the bull and crashed in the mud with a horrifying thud, according to the Daily Mail, “tossing the unconscious mounted rider about like a rag doll.”

By this moment it was clear that Vasquez’s corpse was dead. Several others attempted to save Vasquez when he collapsed, taking advantage of the bull’s diversion. But it was already too late. Artavia Vasquez was carried to the Hospital Enrique Baltodano in severe condition by an ambulance, according to Red Cross employee Marina Villalobos.

Soon after the rider arrived at the hospital, he was pronounced dead. Hearing the awful news didn’t exactly make everyone thrilled, and some even condemned the bull riding tradition. Another viewer remarked, “It is a genuine tragedy that huge TV networks encourage this barbarism,” while another added, “It is high time we abolished ‘entertainment’ based on animal mistreatment that also proves detrimental to people.”

Bull riding is ultimately a dangerous sport that, no matter what comes with its own horrors, once everything is said and done. Hence, there will always be a discussion over this. Is it worthwhile to risk so many lives for the excitement of 8 seconds?
