A pregnant woman and her husband successfully defended themselves against an armed felon who attacked and threatened them in front of a gas station store in Houston.
According to reports, the woman, who was nine months pregnant, parked her car in front of the All Season Food Store to deliver a meal to her husband, who worked there. Both individuals requested to remain anonymous for their safety.
Two armed men were observed in a nearby silver SUV when the woman exited her vehicle. The passenger from the SUV, carrying an AR, confronted her, claiming to be startled. The woman promptly called her husband for assistance.
The man with the rifle moved to the driver’s seat of a green Dodge Challenger parked adjacent to the SUV. Meanwhile, the SUV driver, identified by the police as Mario Duque, started causing trouble. He repeatedly threatened the husband, asking if he wanted to die that night, as captured on surveillance video.
Ignoring Duque’s threats, the couple remained composed. However, Duque proceeded to approach the husband and pistol-whipped him. In response, the pregnant woman retrieved a gun from her bag and shot Duque, while her husband also fired at him.
Expressing gratitude, the woman stated to KTRK, “Thank God we had our guns. I’ve never been happier to be a gun carrier.” Video footage shows the woman keeping Duque at gunpoint until help arrived.
During the incident, a bystander advised Duque to seek forgiveness from God if he believed he was facing death. The husband further emphasized that nothing would happen to him before his due date, asserting, “No, they were not taking out my baby daddy before July 11.”
The courageous actions of the gun-toting couple effectively thwarted the armed felon’s attack, ensuring their own safety and that of their unborn child.
