Groom shares his experience after losing his wife on their wedding day

A tragic incident on Samantha Miller and Aric Hutchinson’s wedding day has left the groom reeling with grief. The couple had just exchanged their vows and were being driven away in a golf cart at their reception in Folly Beach, North Carolina when an alleged drunk driver collided with their vehicle.

The accident resulted in Samantha’s untimely death and injuries to the other passengers, including Aric, Benjamin, and Brogan Garrett. The driver, Jamie Komoroski, has been charged with reckless vehicular homicide and three counts of felony driving under the influence (DUI) resulting in death and/or great bodily injury.

A police report of the crash revealed that her blood alcohol level was three times over the legal limit, and she was in a confused state after the accident.

Jamie’s lawyers have called on people not to rush to judgment and have stated that all the facts will come to light in court. They also expressed their sympathies for the families affected by the tragedy.

Meanwhile, Aric is facing the daunting task of planning his wife’s funeral while undergoing reconstruction surgeries after suffering broken bones and a brain injury. A GoFundMe campaign set up by his mother, Annette, has raised over $720,000 to support Aric’s family during this challenging time.

Aric recently visited the beach where he and Samantha got married for the first time since the accident. He was accompanied by family members who threw flowers with “Sam” written on the stems into the ocean as a tribute to his beloved wife.

Aric spoke about his loss for the first time and shared how much the gesture would have meant to Samantha, a “beach girl through and through.”

Despite his injuries, Aric expressed his gratitude to the well-wishers who came to support him and his family, describing them as “sincere, genuine, good-hearted people.” He is determined to manage his medical recovery while cherishing the memories of his wife.
