What people experience during their final moments before passing away

A hospice nurse has opened up about her experiences with dying patients, revealing that many of them often see loved ones who have already passed away shortly before their own death.

Julie McFadden, who has worked in hospice care for more than five years, shared her insights on TikTok under the username @hospicenursejulie. She has gained over 430,000 followers and 3.6 million likes on the social media platform.

According to Julie, dying patients frequently see dead relatives, friends, and even pets, who offer them comforting words such as “We’re coming to get you soon” or “Don’t worry, we’ll help you.”

While the phenomenon is common, she admits that it remains unexplained, saying, “We don’t know why it happens and we can’t explain it.”

However, Julie notes that it is usually a positive experience for patients, with many of them feeling comforted by the presence of their loved ones.

The nurse emphasized that patients are generally lucid when experiencing these visions, not hallucinating or experiencing delusions. She added that the phenomenon occurs about a month before the patient’s death. “The

Julie also revealed that the hospice care team often includes this information in their educational packets to prepare patients and their families for what they may experience as they approach the end of their lives.
