Following their daring escape from the Barry County Jail in Cassville, Missouri, six out of the seven inmates have been captured, leaving authorities actively searching for Mario Che-Tiul, the remaining fugitive.
According to a Facebook post, The escape occurred late Thursday night when the inmates allegedly overpowered two correctional officers, rendering them unconscious and escaping their confinement.
The captured inmates, three of whom remain unidentified, were apprehended shortly after the escape, while Derson Pelep, Rolondo Saldivar, and Axel Agans were taken into custody in the early hours of Friday, according to WALB.
Meanwhile, the search intensifies for Che-Tiul, who was incarcerated last December on charges of molestation and incest. Law enforcement agencies, including the Missouri Highway Patrol and the U.S. told KOLR.
Marshals Service, are working alongside the Barry County Sheriff’s Office in the manhunt. Authorities have issued a warning that Che-Tiul should be considered armed and dangerous, urging the public to contact 911 if they have any information regarding his whereabouts and to avoid approaching him directly.
