Fake Or Real: 59-Year-Old Chinese Miner Cheung Wai Comes Out Alive After 17 Years Underground

A group of coal miners in Xinjiang, China, reportedly discovered a 59-year-old miner named Cheung Wai who had been trapped underground for 17 years. The miners allegedly found Cheung when they opened a section of an old mine that had been abandoned due to an earthquake. According to the World News Daily Report, Cheung, who was in a weakened physical and mental state, was immediately provided with medical assistance upon his evacuation.

The account suggests that Cheung survived underground along with 78 co-workers by accessing the remaining ventilation ducts for air. He supposedly had access to emergency supplies of rice and water, which sustained his survival. Additionally, he apparently resorted to consuming rats in the mine and managed to find a type of phosphorescent moss, which supposedly served as a source of vitamins for him.

However, upon further investigation, it has been determined that this story is completely fictitious. The World News Daily Report is a satirical website known for publishing fictional news and political content. The disclaimer on their website clearly states that all articles are works of fiction and should not be considered real news.
