Former Vice President Mike Pence faced a confrontational situation as he greeted supporters in the parking lot of an event in New Hampshire.
Enraged followers of ex-President Donald Trump heckled Pence directly, expressing their displeasure with his recent criticism of Trump.
The media was captivated by Trump’s arrest and arraignment after being indicted by Special Counsel Jack Smith’s grand jury for his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
The charges against Trump include conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of an attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.
Pence’s response to the indictment seemed to be a significant departure from his previous stance. He strongly condemned Trump’s efforts to pressure him into changing the election results during the electoral count, which eventually led to a dangerous mob seeking him during the Capitol riot.
In response to Trump’s indictment, Pence issued statements denouncing the former president’s actions and emphasized how he had defended the Constitution against Trump’s demands.
He reiterated these sentiments to reporters and media outlets, even selling merchandise featuring an excerpt from the indictment.
However, this shift in Pence’s stance did not sit well with Trump’s devoted supporters, particularly those in the MAGA (Make America Great Again) community.
The tension was palpable when Pence engaged with some of these supporters in a parking lot outside his event in Londonderry, New Hampshire.
Hostile hecklers expressed their disapproval, jeering at Pence while he interacted with other supporters, shaking hands and taking selfies. The scene was intense and unnerving, highlighting the strong emotions surrounding Pence’s recent statements and actions.
