A Kansas blogger, subjected to harsh criticism for spending $12,000 on body modifications, proudly asserts that the extreme alterations have brought them a sense of beauty and confidence.
Jessy Kirkpatrick, a 27-year-old non-binary individual, has undergone various transformations, including a stretched septum, stretched nostrils, multiple lip piercings, a stretched tongue, a stretched lip, and silicone horn implants. Their distinctive appearance is further adorned with prominent face and neck tattoos.
Despite facing derogatory remarks, Kirkpatrick remains undeterred, explaining their motivations behind the drastic changes. “I pursue body modifications because they empower me,” they declared. “They make me feel beautiful and strong. After enduring a lifetime of abuse, this is what brings me happiness and helps me rediscover my beauty, after feeling used, repulsive, and unattractive.”
Earlier photos of Kirkpatrick depict them as a teenager with unremarkable brown hair and bright blue eyes. Dissatisfied with their appearance, they began modifying their body at the age of 16. Kirkpatrick’s mother initially had reservations, fearing these alterations would negatively impact their future and subject them to lifelong ridicule. Starting with smaller piercings, Kirkpatrick gradually expanded their modifications. Despite occasional concerns from their mother, they receive unwavering love and support told NY Post.
Kirkpatrick’s family members, including their brothers, view their choices as fascinating and unique. While Kirkpatrick acknowledges that obtaining a “big corporate job” may pose challenges, their distinctive appearance has not hindered their employment prospects. They adapt by wearing clear jewelry to conceal their modifications, and employers have demonstrated understanding and appreciation for their desire for self-expression.
Bolstered by familial support and newfound self-assurance, Kirkpatrick envisions further modifications in the near future. Their plans include eyeball tattoos, scarification, a full-body blackout suit, additional dermals, tongue splitting, tattoos under their tongue, an enlarged labret, larger nostrils, a stretched septum, and five-inch earlobes.
Despite facing ugly criticism from internet trolls, Kirkpatrick remains unfazed. They firmly assert, “This is my definition of beauty, and I will never apologize for it or for being true to myself.”
