A 70-year-old woman choked, robbed of life savings by the suspect in utility uniform: REPORTS

In the video, you can hear grandma’s screams as the suspects dragged her chihuahua and then proceeded to choke and beat her.

A young woman is talking out after her 70-year-old grandmother was choked, beaten, and her entire life savings were stolen in a Daly City home invasion robbery. On surveillance video, one of the three suspects is disguised as a utility worker, as per ABC 7 News reports.

The senior citizen can be seen watering plants on her front steps. As she walks inside, a man approaches.

“A man dressed in a construction vest and a hard hat and a laptop,” says Skylar, “He walked from the car to the front door and rang the doorbell and he was wearing a ski mask and had gloves on with skeletons printed on them. He was also carrying a computer.”

Skylar, the woman’s granddaughter, asked that we only use her first name for privacy reasons.

“My grandma is a very smart lady, she did not let him in.”

Skylar claims that, unbeknownst to Grandma, two more people entered her backyard at the same time. When Grandma attempted to run to the front door, a man dressed in a utility worker’s uniform broke in.

Grandma’s screams can be heard as the suspects drag her chihuahua and then choke and beat her.

Her house was broken into, and she claims her entire life savings were stolen.

Skylar claims that the incident was traumatic for her entire family, but she felt forced to speak out to raise awareness about this type of crime. This is especially true for elderly Asian Americans.

“I really just want the violence toward our community to stop.” She hopes that sharing what happened it’ll prevent another elder from becoming a victim.

A family member’s dashcam video shows the three suspects exiting with armfuls of stolen goods. Daly City police say the investigation is ongoing and that there have been cases in the past where suspects dressed up as utility workers.
