A horrifying incident has emerged from Paraguay, revealing the shocking depths of human depravity. It is alleged that a mother in Pedro Juan Caballero, identified as 42-year-old Aurelia Salinas, traded her 3-year-old daughter, Luz Maida, for a meager sum of crack cocaine, estimated to be worth around $12. This distressing revelation took an even more tragic turn when Luz was later discovered raped and murdered, told The Mirror.
Approximately a week ago, Salinas informed the police that her daughter had vanished while she was asleep. Authorities noticed that she appeared to be under the influence of drugs and did not exhibit much concern for her daughter’s absence. Nonetheless, the police initiated an investigation.
Within a short period, the investigation took a devastating turn. On the morning of April 22, neighbors made a horrific discovery in an abandoned house nearby. They found the lifeless body of Luz Maida lying on a bed, covered with a shirt. An autopsy later confirmed that she had been subjected to sexual assault.
The circumstances leading to the little girl’s tragic demise are truly chilling. Salinas reportedly confessed to the police that she had indeed sold her daughter to her boyfriend, a known drug dealer, in exchange for 30 pieces of crack cocaine, worth approximately PYG 100,000 (about $12). The boyfriend, in turn, admitted to killing the girl, according to the authorities. Additionally, a 17-year-old individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, has been apprehended in connection with the crime.
CCTV footage captured the moment when the boyfriend allegedly carried young Luz away from her home. Although the video quality is poor, Luz can be seen wearing a blue dress adorned with characters from the Disney movie “Frozen.” Reports suggest that the suspect slapped the girl as she squirmed in his arms. The footage is available in a news report from Brazil, starting around the 2:40 mark.
The news of the heinous murder deeply affected the local community, leading to a gathering in which individuals attempted to assault Salinas during her arrest. Around 300 people attended Luz’s funeral, and some took matters into their own hands by setting fire to the abandoned house where her body had been discovered.
Neighbors also disclosed that Salinas, who has seven other children, had a “history of tragedies.” Currently, a 30-year-old man is under investigation for allegedly sexually abusing Salinas’s 12-year-old daughter, adding to the disturbing circumstances surrounding this distressing case.
