Stepmother Sentenced to 30 Years: Anazil Convicted of Aggravated Manslaughter for Killing 3-Year-Old Stepson, Ahzya

Prosecutors said the 32-year-old stepmother, Anazil, was sentenced to 30 years in prison after she was convicted of aggravated manslaughter of a child. The stepmother reportedly killed her 3-year-old stepson, Ahzya, to death.

According to the court documents, the 32-year-old defendant was sentenced on Monday. Per reports, the 32-year-old stepmom called 911 and told the dispatcher that she woke up and realized that her stepson was gone.

During an interview with investigators, the woman also said that cash was also missing and the back door was left open. Shortly after, investigators found the child’s body in the woman’s laundry room.

Authorities also said that the boy’s body was reportedly stuffed in a box. In a follow-up interview, the stepmother reportedly said that her stepson broke his foot several weeks ago and she immediately took the child to the hospital.

But, authorities said the hospital didn’t have a record of this visit. An autopsy revealed that the victim had wounds all over his body. The little boy reportedly suffered bruises on his arms, legs, head, torso, and face. The autopsy also revealed the cause of death – blunt impact abdominal trauma. The medical examiner reportedly told investigators that the boy’s liver was lacerated and his pncreas had been broken into several pieces.

Eventually, the stepmother reportedly admitted that she knew where her stepson was the whole time. She also told investigators that she woke up and reportedly found her stepson cold to the touch. She didn’t call 911 or tell her husband. She waited until she was the only one in the house, so she could stuff the child’s body in a box and put bags with clothes over it, to hide him.
